Dogwood Demo
A really nice turnout tonight for my landscape demo at Dogwood Gallery in Tyrone, GA. I painted a favorite scene from a location in SC. Thanks to all for coming out...great questions and response...thank you Gregg Blair for setting it up and getting the word out. Thanks to my awesome wife for taking photos.

Firefly
The model tonight, Melinda S, was in a dance costume that was used as a firefly in the ballet Hansel and Gretel. I thought it looked kind of like a jester..very cool, very colorful. I've simplified it for the time restrictions of the class. This drawing was about 12-15 minutes. Conte and pastel.

Henbit Road
Another painting of a place that I find compelling...Byrdtown, SC. The title refers to the purple "weed" that grows in fields in this area certain times of the year. This painting is an 11x14 oil on panel and is a more involved painting from an earlier 8x8 study.

Fluff
Painting of dancer Chelsea S "fluffing" her tutu. 24x30 on panel. I've done two paintings on panel at this large size and like the results. I'm going to try to get a smoother finish in the gesso coat next time.
