Gretel 2

Oil on panel, 16x20 of Emily T as Gretel. This is a continuation from the life drawings shown earlier. I loved the light on this one and tried to work with looser brush strokes than normal. The panel is gessoed Masonite. Detail of painting also shown.

Gretel

Emily T as Gretel(Hansen and Gretel). Cool costume and great poses make for good drawings...well, at least that's the hope! This one is 10-12 minutes. Conte and pastel

Byrdtown Fields

Small painting of a scene near Hartsville, SC. I've done a number from this area over the years...Byrdtown. This is an 11x14 oil on panel. I had fun playing with the linear patterns in the fields.

Thoroughly 20's Laura

Model, Laura P, formerly Laura B, posed for the drawing class in 1920's attire. Beautiful dresses! Her poses were fantastic and were very much in keeping with the time period and character that the costumes were used for(plays). She even brought music to go along with the theme. Here are a couple of 12-15 minute sketches from the night. Conte and pastel. $225 each.

Last Stand Hill

This is a painting I did several years ago but never finalized it. Currently, in reality, there is an iron fence around the foreground markers that include George Custer's marker. I feel that the fence is a visual intrusion and chose to leave it out but never fully settled it in my mind. I'm currently seeking input from LBH followers...and anyone else that may choose to weigh in. View of the Little Bighorn valley from Last Stand Hill. 18x24 oil.

Laura

Laura H posed for the life drawing class. This 12 minute conte and pastel sketch was my favorite from the night.
